Empowering Global Development Practitioners
The Global MDP Network fosters cross-disciplinary excellence, bridging the gap between academic theory and field-based practice to create sustainable impact worldwide.
Our History
The Global MDP was launched in 2009 with a visionary grant from the MacArthur Foundation. Our mission was born from the recognition that sustainable development requires a new generation of practitioners skilled in health, natural sciences, social sciences, and management. Over the last decade, we have expanded from a few founding universities into a robust global network spanning every continent, united by a commitment to rigorous field-based training and academic excellence.
